Mountain Pines by Two Old Bags

This is another “revival” pattern. One of our first lace efforts and still a good one, MOUNTAIN PINES is a square shawl. This shawl begins by knitting a center square; stitches are picked up around the center and the border is worked out to the edge where the lace edging is then applied. You can knit this with fingering weight yarn for a really large shawl or lace weight for a more traditional shawl. Row-by-row directions and charts are included. A large shawl, after blocking it should be a 56” square, and calls for 1500 yards of fingering weight yarn.
