This clever tradition traveled to Newfoundland with early settlers, where it kept hands warm through harsh winters. After nearly fading into history, thrummed mittens are making a cozy comeback—and we’re bringing them to The Yarn Lady!

With over 20 years of experience at AC Moore, she mastered a wide variety of crafting techniques and developed a deep passion for teaching others. In addition to her time there, she also worked for many years at a yarn shop, further honing her expertise in all things fiber arts. Throughout her career, Susan has worn many hats—Manager, Salesperson, and Instructor—bringing a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to every class she teaches.
